Influenster #FrostyVoxBox Product Reviews

I received the #FrostyVoxBox complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes only shortly before Christmas of 2014. What a great variety of products! I would like to do a review of each of them here for you today.

The first products I would like to talk about are from #Rimmel. I received a full sized Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in the color black.  This eyeliner is very creamy, glides onto the eyes with ease. As far as performance, it is extremely long-lasting. I do not think I have ever had an eyeliner stay in my water line as long as this one did.  It is comparable in quality to more expensive higher end liners on the market, yet retails for only $4.49. I would like this eyeliner in every shade they make and could afford to do so!

The second Rimmel product I was sent was a full size of their Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. It retails for $7.49. I was sceptical that an oil free makeup remover could possibly remove waterproof mascara and eyeliners. I truly put it through its paces. I used both the Benefit They’re Real mascara and eyeliner, since they are notorious for being hard to remove. I simply squeezed a small amount of the remover onto a cotton pad (that is all it takes), and gently massaged it over my eye lids and lashes. It dissolved and removed every single trace of product. I am so very impressed with this remover. It does not sting the eyes at all and just works like a dream. I think this will be a permanent staple in my skin care routine.

The next product that I would like to talk about is my new Ecotools hairbrush. I have never tried any of their brushes before.  The brush I received was the Full Volume Styler . It says it is ideal for medium to long hair. I might also add that it is one wonderful brush for those of us with thick hair.  The brush is unique in design and can help your hair dry up to 20 percent faster when blow drying for less damage. I use this brush on a daily basis whether my hair is wet or dry. I simply love it. It works better than  the other two round brushes I already own. My hair is shiny and easy to style and it does help to tame any fly-aways or frizzies. The brush retails for $10.99.

The next product I only received a foil sample of, and would love to have a full sized version to really give it a  proper testing. It is the No 7 Protect &Perfect Intense Advanced Serum from Boots Beauty. This is a UK brand that is quickly gaining buzz here in the United States. Apparently one is sold every 8 seconds in the UK.  Apparently from a video I watched, they tested a variety of women and would not allow them to look at their appearance in a mirror for two weeks while using the product.  It carries the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. I really liked the way the product applied and wish I had received enough to give it the full two weeks to fully test the results.  I did receive a 2.00 off coupon for Target only, a store not located in this part of my state. The full size retails for 29.99.

The last beauty product that I received was a new formulation of and NYC lipstick. I have tried various ones in the past, and some were rather drying. This one is called NYC Expert Last Lip Color and I received it in the shade of Sugar Plum.  The claim is that is lasts up to six hours.  It was a very creamy formula , but I am not sure it made it to six hours with me. I would say it lasted four hours however.  This particular formula retails for $1.99, very affordable and I am sure I will pick up some other shades to try in the near future!

The FrostyVoxBox had a little bit of everything in it. Now onto the food products.  The first item that I sampled was a full size of McCormick Gourmet Thyme. I have to admit that I have not used thyme all that often in recipes for some reason. I did give this one a whirl using it on green beans and a few other various dishes that I prepared over the holidays. You can tell by it’s bright green color that it was not your typical dried herb in a bottle. The product I have seen labeled as organic and all natural. I am not sure if it is a packaging variation. I look forward to experimenting more with this herb over the winter when I tend to cook more soups and heavier dishes. It did impart a bright and slightly minty taste to my recipes. It retails for $4.79.

Let’s talk tea. I have been a fan of Celestial Seasonings teas for more years than I can remember. Included in my box, were two packets of a special holiday tea called “Candy Cane Lane”.  It is a decaf tea that contains peppermint, green tea, orange peel, vanilla, cinnamon, milk thistle, blackberry leaves, roasted carob, roasted chicory and vanilla bean.  A really refreshing and soothing beverage  It tastes very strongly of mint and for me, seems to have a bit of floral undertones.  I really enjoy it and will be purchasing more.  Where I live a box runs anywhere from 2.99 to 3.99 usually.

To finish off my review, let’s end with something sweet. I received the hanging size packet of Fruit Vines bites in the flavor of cherry. These are really delicious. They are soft, uniquely shaped, and they are a licorice that does not stick in your teeth! They also are available in the flavor of Strawberry, which I know I will try next.  They can easily be found at your local Wal-mart, Walgreens , Target , Safeway, just about anywhere. Depending on the bag size, they retail for $1.28-$1.79.

This was a wonderful box to test out and I would like to personally thank Influenster and these brands for allowing me to do so!!

Ciao for now!
